Opening ~ a poem about aggression, fear and power of words

Why are you angry? asked the bird.

Because I am scared, said the dog.

Why are you afraid? asked the butterfly.

Because it’s dark and I cannot see, said the dog.

Why is it dark? asked the mole.

Because all doors are shut, said the dog.

Why are all doors shut? asked the dear.

Because I must learn to wait in darkness, said the dog.

Who are you waiting for? asked the eagle.

The one who opens the door, said the dog.

Why don’t you open the door yourself? asked the hedgehog.

I’m too scared to move, answered the dog.

Why don’t you open the door with your words? asked the squirrel.

Which words? asked the dog.

Let there be light, all chanted.
